After waiting all week for the frames, we were told yesterday that the framing company are suggesting that we do treated pine frames due to the area possibly having termites!!!!
We had this discussion with the builder in the beginning and it was him that said he used some other way to stop termite damage and trusted that was all that was needed
Well $6500 later and a few choice words thrown around, we payed it and now the frames will take another 3 days to build..grrrrrr
So that leaves us with:
Friday - Plumbing should be done
Monday - frames delivered
Tuesday - frames stood
Wednesday - frames finished
And so we wait...

Meeting the neighbours
We took our eldest son, our DIL and our 2 cherubs (Zara and Xander) up to the block since they haven't seen it in a while and seen how big the slab was!
Whilst up there, we met our soon to be next door neighbours (you can see their build in some of the pics) well her at least, he was busy building
Can't remember their names (isn't that terrible) but I am sure we'll catch them up there again especially as he's building the house himself
She was saying that they hope to be in by Christmas! Damn, wish that could be us, we wont be in until late June early July depending on weather of course
We had been told by Peter that the frames will be delivered tomorrow (being a Sunday I highly doubt it) and am sooooooo looking forward to seeing how much timber is in this house!
He also said that the plumber will be on site to do the plumbing for the pool and the water tank sometime on Monday or Tuesday depending
The shed will be delivered sometime next week as well which is exciting but not sure when they will work on that
We're getting there slowly I guess but as usual, my patience is running thin lol

Water Glimpses
So we went up to the block today to meet with Peter and discuss the possibilities of ducting the range hood, to which he said that we may have to put a bulk head across the top of the kitchen cupboards and have it going through the laundry which in turn will need a bulkhead as well
I don't think it'll make a big difference to the overall look of the rooms and it's probably a benefit to me since I'm so short anyways!
We also had to work out where we wanted the position of the water tank and the overflow for the pool. After we worked all that out, Master G discovered that we could see water glimpses from the bottom floor..woohoo, we thought we'd only be able to see them from our balcony off the master bed but what a bonus. Just goes to show how high we are on the rise which is why Master G wanted it back so far off the street
I took some pics but they're a bit blurry

Looking to the front of the house, mountain views
This was taken just at the end of the estate and down towards the river

The Slab
We went up to the block today to check on the slab pour and the guys were just finishing off and starting to take the formwork off....say what!!!!
We couldn't believe how quick things were happening and are super excited for the next step....frames
The guys who are doing the slab on the barn were also at it and making good progress with getting the pad ready for the formwork to begin on Monday
I took a few pics...
