Restoration Reveals

Don't you just love a good bargain?
I've lost count of the amount of bargains I've gotten over the years, they seem to just fall into my lap so to speak
I've have to confess, I am a true bargain hunter and refuse to pay more than what an item is worth just to get it there and then and will wait until the right piece comes along
I found this gorgeous bookcase on Ebay (my favourite go to online store) which someone had already started bidding on but I knew it would look great with a touch up from me, so I started bidding too
in the end, I won and only payed $50 which to me, is a bargain because of the detail on the top
It only took until my next 2 days off work to get the magic paint brush out of storage and turn this ugly duckling into a beautiful swan lol...I'm just kidding, it's so not ugly but you get my drift!
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen which took a couple of coats and then finished it off with the dark wax and a few blisters later....

Voila, a perfect addition to my French Collection

Another great find was this bookcase which I wanted to re do for the home office
This only cost me $40

A bit of paint and it looks completely different!

Another bargain was this hall stand which only cost me $20

I painted it in my favourite colour, French Linen

My next project to tackle will be this unit...if nothing else comes along beforehand lol
I paid a pretty decent price for it...but I think it's worth every penny...$350
I still haven't done anything to it yet as I'm not sure if I actually want to re-do it or keep it as is! If anything, I'll probably only paint the inside and that'll be done in Old White which I think will freshen it up. I love the colour of the timber however, it is a little too red when comparing it to the timber we're doing on the floors so it might just have to be done after all

I couldn't resist this great find, and only paid $150 for it from $250
I especially loved the details on it and think it will look awesome with a fresh coat of paint to bring them out

Couldn't believe how heavy the damn thing was too but Geoff and I managed to get it into the back of the 4x4...just! Lucky I am as strong as I am :)
